SKETCHING ON A BMP (bitmap) LAYER
Your first layer will be for Sketching. Your default layer will show a BMP layer. Double click the layer bar and rename it ...sketch.
Start your drawing on this sketch layer. Be as sloppy and quick as you want on the sketch stage. Erase as often as needed and dont worry about it.
Using the pencil tool, I usually set the color to be different then I will use on my final work and make it a little wider lines than the rest of the layers. That way I can always tell what it is.
If your pencil tool doesn't change to the color you select click to the paint brush then click back and your color will change to your selection. You may have to use this trick to get other selections to work too.
When you go to ink it in it will be easier to tell the sketch from the ink.
always name your layers something you can remember. It will be very confusing if you don't.
